Covid-19 Re-Opening Guidelines

Hillary House National Historic Site

Covid-19 Re-opening

Visitor Guidelines

Things to keep in mind:

  • Visitors are encouraged to call or email ahead of arriving at Hillary House NHS to book a time to visit, if possible. This is to assist in managing visitor capacity and avoid wait times.

  • Visitors may also come to Hillary House NHS without reservations but may be denied immediate entry and asked to wait if capacity limits have been reached.

  • Visitors to Hillary House NHS are asked to call the office upon arrival, ring the doorbell, or knock to prevent them from entering Hillary House NHS before going through screening protocols.

  • Masks are optional.

  • Visitors must sanitize their hands before they enter and they will be encouraged to do so throughout the house and again before leaving.

  • Visitors will be asked to maintain physical distancing practices (2m or 6ft) between themselves and others on site (staff, volunteers, and other visitors not from their household or “social bubble”).

  • Visitors will be reminded not to touch museum artifacts per museum standards and because heritage surfaces cannot be disinfected easily. Touching should be limited to an as needed basis (ex. handrails).

  • Visitors who do not respect social distancing, hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and no-touch requirements may be refused service and asked to leave the site.
