Private Rentals


Wedding photos, concerts, filming, baby showers, the list goes on!

Book your next private event at Hillary House. We accept private bookings and rentals of both our indoor and outdoor heritage property. We have commercial and private fees for both photography and filming.

The AHS prioritizes the protection and preservation of our heritage building, its contents, our team, and our visitors. We have requirements and guidelines designed to welcome people onto the property, and to limit risk of damages. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation when looking into our booking opportunities.

Please contact us for the Rental Package, which includes our fees and guidelines, or reach out to us for the Rental Agreement directly. Consultations and visits under 20 minutes for minor site checks are free, but must be booked ahead of time by phone or email appointment.

Renters must provide adequate proof of insurance and list the Aurora Historical Society as an Additional Insured to the AHS prior to signing the agreement. All rentals are subject to a 2-hour minimum.

Other renter guidelines include:

  • Deposit to confirm booking: 50% of total, at time of booking.
  • Balance of payment: 7 days before date of event.
  • Damage deposit: 7 days before date of event.
  • Refunds: If cancelled more than seven days before event, full refund less $25 administration fee; if cancelled fewer than seven days before event, refund of 50% of full rental.
  • Cheques: Should be made payable to “Aurora Historical Society”
  • AHS Members receive a 15% discount off any rental.
  • An Aurora Historical Society Board or Staff member must be present for the duration of the event.
  • AHS capacity restrictions are in place at all times.
  • All rentals where food is served must include the rental of the Staff Kitchen.
  • All renters must sign a Rental Agreement which includes details and conditions.
