Thank you for your understanding!
We have Winter Hours and Summer Hours for visitors to come to our heritage property (see above). We are open from 10AM to 4PM, except for special events and private bookings. Our heritage property is occasionally closed to public access for private venue rentals, including both indoor and outdoor use. We recommend that you call ahead to inquire about site availability. Unsure if we are open during a holiday? Call us at 905-727-8991 or send us an email at community@aurorahs.com.

Sitting on two acres, Hillary House is a Gothic Revival building with three floors. Enjoy a guided tour of the house, including stories from the four doctors who lived and worked at Hillary House.
Hillary House is not an accessible building due to our heritage infrastructure. The property has uneven ground and the building has low lighting, and no elevators, among other limitations. If you have concerns about visiting our property, please review our Accessibility Package and contact us ahead of your visit for more details. Masks remain optional and our Staff are happy to use a mask, upon request.
We only offer guided tours, as all artifacts are on open display and within reach. All tours are $5.00 per person over the age of 12. All proceeds go towards Hillary House’s preservation and the Society’s operations.
Tours are dependent on staff availability, so we strongly recommend you call ahead to book a tour. Since some historic rooms are fairly small, we are limited to tours for groups of 5 people at a time. For larger group inquiries, please contact us at community@aurorahs.com.
On our outdoor property, we have several interpretive panels that explore the other uses of the grounds. Feel free to explore the outside of Hillary House at your leisure without any cost. Have a picnic in our back gardens, do some plein air painting, or other activity that respects the use of our historic grounds.
The AHS offers mini tour booklets in English and French upon request. This complimentary pamphlet is given in addition to the guided-tour. Our organization would love to offer tour booklets in other languages, so if you are interested in volunteering to translate our booklet, please get in touch with us.
Please note: Commercial photography has a fee. Learn about our Private Rental Packages and other fees.
Gift Shop

As a registered charity, our Gift Shop is tax-free! We keep item costs low, and the inventory changes throughout the year.
The Gift Shop is located on the south side of the building, nearest to our Side Entrance, which is directly in front of the parking lot. The store is inside the original historic kitchen.
We accept jewellery, crystal, teacups, as well as gently-used small household items in excellent condition and complete sets. Unfortunately, we do not accept books, textiles, incomplete sets, or damaged items.
Please call in advance to arrange a Gift Shop donation drop off, or leave items in the “Drop Off for Gift Shop” cabinet by the south door, Side Entrance. For larger items, please contact us ahead of time.
Your donations to the Gift Shop are greatly appreciated as it not only rehomes loved items, but the funds help to maintain the AHS’s operations and site preservation. Thank you for donating!
