Many of you may recognize the name of our final speaker in the 2016 AHS Speaker Series, Jacqueline Stuart. You may also have memories of her taking you around the Aurora Museum, helping you with a research project, or looking up parts of your family tree. That is because for 25 years Jacqueline Stuart was the Curator of the Aurora Historical Society. From giving tours, to organizing the collection and research Jacqueline, or Jackie as she is known to most, has been one of Aurora’s greatest assets to the historical community.
Although she has been retired for 10 years Jackie continues to work on unraveling the unanswered questions of Aurora’s past. She will be joining us this Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm to share with us the story of Aurora and the Great War: The Home Front. In her talk she will explore the impact the First World War had on Aurora, as well as what work was done to aid the war-efforts right here at home.
Tickets are $7.00 each or $5.00 for AHS Members. To reserve your seat contact Leigha Cooney at firstname.lastname@example.org or 905 727 8991
